Yesterday We were picking up some Douglas Fir from our lumber supplier. We love working with DF and incorporate it into every project we can. It has many qualities we look for in our trim and cabinetry material. Very few if any knots, milled straight and true making any project with DF a joy to complete and admire.
While picking up our order, I happened to see a pallet of rough sawn walnut, stacked nice and neat in it’s rich brown hue waiting to be picked up and no doubt used for trim and/or cabinetry. The picture above is quarter sawn oak. Very much like both walnut and black walnut. Is this look making a resurgence in kitchen and bath cabinetry? It may very well be.
